Compression & storage

From biomethane to a dispatchable CBG product

SATAT-era cascade delivery to oil-marketing company retail outlets is commonly compressed to 250 bar. Network injection, where permitted, is a different pressure and regulatory problem. PESO governs much of the compression and storage envelope in India.

Rows of high-pressure gas cylinders — CBG cascade context.

Offtake decides pressure

Compression follows the buyer

Cascades, dispensers, industrial piping and city-gas injection are different offtake designs. Saimona treats compression as part of the offtake model, not as an afterthought to the digester.

Cascade filling

SATAT-era retail delivery is commonly discussed at 250 bar for cascade filling. That number is an industry reference, not a Saimona product specification.

Dispensing and industrial pipe

On-site or nearby industrial fuel use may never see a 250-bar cascade. Pressure, odorisation and metering follow that buyer.

Network injection

Where injection is allowed, it is a different pressure, odorisation and regulatory problem — often citing the applicable IS 16087 edition plus network codes.

Cylinders and cascades used for transport are specified under applicable cylinder standards. PESO governs much of the compression and storage envelope in India. Partners supply the machines; Saimona’s job is to keep compression inside the same brief as offtake and upgrading.
