H₂S is removed before it becomes an equipment problem
Hydrogen sulphide and related contaminants are taken out to protect upgrading skids, compressors and the fuel specification. Biological, chemical and scavenger routes exist; the choice is a project decision.
Raw biogas is not a fuel specification. Sulphur, moisture and other traces have to be managed before carbon dioxide removal and compression. Pretreatment quality often decides whether PSA, membranes or water scrubbing can hold their design recovery.
